Day after day, the team had to live with the strain of the desire to win promotion before the end of the season and the failure to do so, the determination that came from a season on the up and up and the fear of not rounding it off with the hoped-for reward, until victory in the last game, and greatness for Sassuolo.

The fans’ jubilation was transformed into the party the town threw for the team, in the warm embrace of the entire population, with everyone involved.

The Q-Stone collection was chosen to ensure consistency between the building and the materials used, with design in accordance with the principles of architecture building as the key fundamental: Q-Stone contains more than 40% recycled material and forms part of the Emilceramica Group’s LCA project.

The environmental impact of ceramic tiles production was a vital, highly significant factor, confirming that Ergon and the Emilceramica Group comply with the highest standards, with constant improvement of the production process and now oriented to identifying and reducing their carbon footprint, with the aim of drawing up Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
Over time, this principle has been fundamental to various policies adopted by the Emilceramica Group ever since 1982, the year when it started to invest in sustainability by introducing complete recycling of its wastewater, followed by the total recycling of processing waste and sludges, then the use of recyclable packaging, through to today with the use of a new type of inks with less impact on man and the environment.

Ceramic tiles developed and produced under an UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certified quality system, with parameters above the standard prerequisites, with a special focus on the constancy of the results achieved and excellent quality levels where the appearance factor predominates, generated by the Group’s investments in its in-house research and development division, which every year comes up with stunning collections in line with the main interior design trends: innovation as the distinguishing feature.

The W-age collection definitely belongs to this category; it reproduces the look and feel of cross-cut wood, highlighting the concentric rings and almost imperceptible unevenness which occur in large trees.
The protection of this uniqueness has enabled us to block the distribution and importation of Chinese products sold by an Italian company, which were a rough copy of W-age, with none of the original product’s beauty but reproducing the essential features, so that customers could potentially have been misled.
Legal proceedings resolved the problem very quickly, confirming the excellent degree of protection provided by design registration. The court ruling was highly satisfactory, not just banning sale of the products but also ordering the destruction of the sales aids and stock, together with all marketing tools, from the Internet site to the catalogue.

Creativity, taste and attention to detail: W-age is a fine example of design tiles, the outcome of the research underlying fine Italian-made products.

The process by which wood is transformed into stone is called silicisation, and involves the transformation of all the organic matter in the tree’s trunk into minerals (especially quartzes and silicates). Petrification takes place underground, when the trees have been covered with sediments that prevent oxygen from reaching them. The salt-rich rainwater that flows through the forest seeps into the ground and adds different colours and shades to the wood. The wood’s look and colour vary depending on the type of ground in which it is petrified.
The tree is transformed into stone with the original structure of both its bark and its heartwood intact; the product derived from it is a precious material, a miracle of nature. Elements such as manganese, iron, copper and contaminated quartz crystals give the petrified wood a wide variety of colours.

50 fossilised wood slabs were photographed in high resolution to produce the Petrified Tree wood tiles, acquiring large-sized images to capture the finest details of the marble-like crystallisations and wood veins, leaving all their beauty intact. The bark was photographed to acquire detailed images of its fibrous nature and maintain all its colours and variations in shade. Full HD digital technology allowed all these unique particulars to be faithfully reproduced on slabs of fine porcelain stoneware.

Stone Box Concept begins with the selection of 36 different types of stone with a view to creating a unique one. The stone tiles contribute an intrinsic value to the project, lending the uniqueness of the geological composition and evoking the nature of the territory where it was extracted. The sustained rhythm of the varying patterns, combined with a minimalist and rational form, grant each tile a unique and functional identity. The innovation of the rectangular form, which also becomes a wall covering, is the ideal element for decorating all three spatial dimensions of our lives.

Stone Box Basic is born of the selection of a single stone, proposed in 40 graphic variations, photographed in high-definition, and then reproduced on porcelain stoneware.
The stone tiles are enhanced by the multiple and characteristic grain patterns, thanks to Full HD digital production technology.

Stone Box presents a surface that faithfully reproduces the grain of natural stone. It is worked in bas-relief and coated with quartzes and grits. The result is brimming with complexity and combines a surface that is pleasant to the touch with excellent technical characteristics and easy maintenance, typical of tiles.

The two natures of Concept and Basic reflect our daily lives, the alternating rhythms that make each day different from any other.

Statale 9 develops cement in 3 finishes that interpret different surfaces, transforming the raw materials into design tiles.
Wet offers a replica of concrete on which rain and humidity have left their mark, each one different from the next, with a variety of more than 30 surfaces, thanks to full HD digital technology.
Work gives the effect of time-worn cement, consumed by the traffic of people and vehicles, typically found in industrial sheds and today very popular for post-industrial remodelling, reinvented as lots, showrooms, art galleries, and trendy hot spots.
The third finish -Texture – proposes a metropolitan cement, as can be seen in playgrounds or parking lots, interpreted with a customised styling that leaves some zones with small square pitting on the surface, a working pattern.

Statale 9 completes the range of design tiles with a minimalist and modern wood, offered in two essences that faithfully reproduce the grain and shadings found in nature, presenting them in 120 cm-long strips, in both the “treated wood” version and those decorated with spots of colour, drippings, and stripes that further enhance the concept of remodelling.
